Hear directly from a drafting committee member and a Lead Safety Engineer as they walk you through the new systems-based framework and integration of the ADDIE instructional design model—enhancements designed to improve training effectiveness.

This session will explore both strategic perspectives and detailed changes, equipping you with practical tools and insights to align your safety training programs with the revised standard. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to strengthen their safety, health, and environmental programs.

Wyatt Bradbury

Wyatt Bradbury, CSP, CHST, CIT

Wyatt Bradbury, CSP, CHST, CIT, is Principal – Health and Safety at Avetta and Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama Birmingham, specializing in system safety and risk management. He serves on the ANSI Z490.1 Drafting Committee and contributes to ANSI Z590.6 and Z10 standards. With a Master’s in Advanced Safety Engineering, Wyatt is pursuing a PhD at West Virginia University. A dedicated ASSP leader, he’s held roles on the Board Advisory Committee and numerous society-level committees, advocating for training excellence and safety innovation.

 

Matthew Herron, MS, PE, CSP, CPE

Mr. Herron is Lead Safety Engineer at Southwest Research Institute with over 15 years of experience in ergonomics, safety, and OHS management systems across healthcare, automotive, aerospace, and R&D. A Licensed PE (TX), CSP, CPE, and dual CSHO, he holds an MS in Occupational Safety Engineering and a BS in Physics, and is pursuing an MBA. As a sub-committee member for ANSI Z490.1 (2021–2024), he contributed to its latest revision. Mr. Herron is also Vice President of ASSP’s Council on Region Affairs, supporting global safety leadership and CLEAR values through strategic guidance and oversight.
